KINDERGARTEN READINESS ASSESSMENT REVISED (KRA-R) VIRTUAL TRAINING DATES

June – October 2021

Training on the Kindergarten Readiness Assessment Revised will be available using an online hybrid format (including self-paced modules and a scheduled webinar) beginning in June. All new kindergarten teachers, or other educators who will be scoring the KRA-R, must successfully complete the training prior to assessing children.

Registration for the Kindergarten Readiness Assessment Revised (KRA-R) Virtual Training from June to October 2021 is now open through the STARS training and registration application within your OHID Account for June and July events. All events will be available for registration by the end of July. Please see this Kindergarten Readiness Assessment Revised (KRA-R) Virtual Training Dates.

Each teacher must have an individual account in the Ready for Kindergarten Online system (KReady) to participate in the training.  Registration will be cancelled for individuals who do not have an account at least one week prior to the training date.

Teachers must complete self-paced online modules prior to attending their scheduled webinar. For more information about the KRA-R, please go to the Kindergarten Readiness Assessment website or send an email to KRAHelp@education.ohio.gov.

KRA-R ADMINISTRATION MATERIALS

Please ensure your current 2020-2021 KRA-R administration materials are securely stored as they will be used again for the fall 2021 administration.

Some schools and districts might need additional or new administration materials for next school year. The order form for replacement KRA-R Kits will be available on this Webpage beginning June 1. Tests are secure materials. The administration materials for the 50-item KRA used in previous years should be destroyed because they are no longer in use. Please complete this Kindergarten Readiness Assessment Document of Secure Test Destruction to report destroyed kits.

COMMUNICATION CORRECTION

An EMIS newsflash that was sent this morning contained some incorrect information.  The KRA does not affect state funding and the only potential implication on the report card is for districts that use the KRA Language and Literacy domain to meet the reading diagnostic requirement.
